Since January 29, a ban has been imposed on the import of live animals and poultry from all over India. In addition, the import of all types of products subject to state veterinary control from the state of West Bengal is restricted, where there is an unfavorable epidemiological situation (with the exception of international transit).

According to the World Organization for Animal Health, the spread of the virus in this region poses potential risks, given that products from there were previously supplied to Uzbekistan.

At the same time, it is stipulated that the import of products from epizootically safe territories can be considered by the state veterinary service on an individual basis.

Earlier, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee of Uzbekistan called on citizens to take precautions against the spread of the Nipah virus in India and Southeast Asian countries, noting that the likelihood of its importation into the republic remains extremely low.
