The Fifth meeting of the Ministers of Health of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Astana on April 8. A delegation led by the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, A. Khudoyarov, is in Kazakhstan to participate in this event.

On the eve of an important international event, a sub-regional meeting was held on the theme "Launching the Tuberculosis-Free Central Asia Initiative", organized by the WHO Regional Office for Europe.

As noted, the Central Asian States have made significant progress in saving thousands of lives.

In particular, comprehensive healthcare reforms are being implemented in Uzbekistan, which specifically set out goals to reduce the incidence of tuberculosis and the country's commitments to eliminate the disease by 2050.

Our country has achieved significant improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis patients, and thus Uzbekistan has become one of the countries that have made a significant contribution to global progress in the fight against tuberculosis.

It was said that the TB-Free Central Asia initiative is an important platform for cooperation between the countries of the region in the fight against this disease, and Uzbekistan plans to actively participate in this.

The activities proposed under the initiative will provide an opportunity to create a unified regional approach and strengthen cross-border TB control, which will ultimately lead to global health security.

Asilbek Khudayarov also met with the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Akmaral Alnazarova, where they discussed issues of cooperation.

In addition, our delegation visited the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine, the National Scientific Cancer Center, and the National Scientific Center for Cardiac Surgery, where they got acquainted with the latest approaches to work in the field of healthcare.
