The event was attended by the heads of leading travel companies and agencies, employees of the diplomatic corps and representative offices of international organizations, representatives of the media, the news agency "Dunyo" reports.
Information was provided on the results of large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years to further develop the tourism sector, create modern conditions for international and local travelers, and further improve the tourist infrastructure.
Particular attention was paid to the consistent changes in the support of various areas of tourism, including mountain, ecological, sports and culinary tourism.
A new direction of the industry is dynamically developing in India today – tourism of family celebrations, including wedding ceremonies. There is a great interest among Indians in holding such events in foreign countries. Therefore, within the framework of the conference, a presentation of the potential of our country in the field of wedding tourism took place.
It was noted that the tourist flow between Uzbekistan and India has noticeably intensified, in particular, it is expected that this year the number of travelers from this country to Uzbek cities will reach the highest level in the history of relations.
The event also discussed the preparatory work for the 25th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and other events that will be organized within the framework of this large-scale forum. It was emphasized that the holding of the anniversary session of the UNWTO General Assembly in Uzbekistan once again confirms the high interest of the world community in the tourism potential of our country.
Negotiations were held between representatives of the Embassy and Indian travel companies on the prospects for further development of mutual cooperation.
