A Forum of rectors of universities of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will be held in Dushanbe

    From February 28 to March 1 of this year, a Forum of rectors of universities of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan is planned to be held at the Tajik National University (TNU).

    This was announced by the rector of the Tajik National University Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda at a meeting with journalists in Dushanbe.

    According to him, it is expected that representatives of more than 20 higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan will gather to participate in the Forum, the Tajik news agency Avesta reports.

    "We have cooperation agreements with most Uzbek universities, and we are confident that new agreements on cooperation in scientific, educational and international areas will be concluded," the rector of TNU stressed.

    According to him, the university administration is confident that following the results of the Forum, the exchange of experience between teachers and students of the two countries will increase. "We must cooperate closely with the universities of the neighboring state," K. Khushvakhtzoda said.

    According to the Vice-Rector for International Relations of TNU, Iles Gafforzod, currently 274 foreign students are studying at the Tajik National University, including 184 students from Uzbekistan.

    "Our university also has students from Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran. This year, through interviews, we have accepted 74 foreign students to our university," concluded Ilyos Gafforzoda.
