Uzbekistan's experience in respecting women's rights is presented in Geneva

Uzbekistan's experience in developing and implementing effective mechanisms for monitoring women's rights was presented at an event on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Geneva.

A round table on "Time to Act: Inclusive, evidence-based, and Transformative solutions to achieve gender equality" was organized on April 2, 2025, on the sidelines of the Regional SDG Forum in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) region.

The event brought together leading experts, politicians and representatives of international organizations to discuss key challenges and solutions in the field of gender equality.

Dilnoza Muratova, Deputy Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, spoke at the first panel on the use of gender data for policy formation. Her presentation presented Uzbekistan's experience in developing and implementing effective mechanisms for monitoring women's rights and their economic and social integration.

The representative of Uzbekistan stressed the importance of an integrated approach in the implementation of gender policy, as well as the importance of developing legislative and institutional reforms to protect the rights of women and girls. Mechanisms that can ensure long-term sustainability and political commitment to gender equality were also presented.

The discussion was attended by representatives of other countries, including Armenia, Albania, Spain, Austria, Moldova, as well as specialists from international organizations UN Women and UNFPA.

Special attention was paid to the exchange of best practices and the analysis of current challenges in the field of gender equality.

In addition to the panel discussions, a video clip from Uzbekistan was presented during the event, showing the real stories of women who have achieved success through government support programs. This was part of the global "Unstoppable" campaign aimed at promoting best practices for achieving gender equality.

The round table concluded with a discussion of promising steps and international cooperation to accelerate progress towards achieving SDG 5. The participants expressed their readiness for further cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of women's rights and sustainable development.
