An attempt to illegally transport jewelry worth 550 million soums was stopped at Tashkent International Airport

    On August 7, 2025, customs officers discovered another offense at Tashkent International Airport. Suspicion was aroused by the actions of a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan who arrived on a flight from Bishkek.

    It is reported that the individual was stopped in accordance with the established procedure, after which forms of customs control, including a personal search, were applied to him.

    During the inspection, jewelry made of yellow and white metal, decorated with diamonds, with a total weight of 412 grams, was found in the man's underwear. These products were not declared and were not mentioned during the oral interview.

    According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the seized jewelry is about 550 million soums.

    At the moment, the jewelry has been seized as physical evidence, and an investigation is underway.
