A business forum was held in the Moscow region with the participation of the heads of the Andijan and Moscow regions

    The business forum, which was held in the Moscow region, was attended by the governor of the Andijan region Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov, the governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Botirjon Asadov, as well as entrepreneurs and representatives of business circles from both regions.

    According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, at the forum, the parties discussed large-scale cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres - investment, foreign trade, tourism, education, culture and other promising areas, the Dunyo news agency reports.

    The event brought together about 50 companies from the Moscow and Andijan regions, where the investment potential of the two regions was presented in detail. Entrepreneurs of the two regions got acquainted with promising joint projects.

    In order to discuss priority areas of cooperation, on the eve of the business forum, the khokim of the Andijan region of Uzbekistan, Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov, met with the governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov.

    The parties paid special attention to attracting investments and creating comfortable conditions for entrepreneurs of the two regions, exchanging residents, as well as training in working specialties.

    It should be noted that in May 2024, the delegation of the Andijan region, headed by the khokim, already came to the Moscow region.

    In late spring, the delegation of the Moscow region, in turn, visited enterprises of the new free economic zone of the Andijan region, including the production of automotive components and enterprises of the textile industry.

    Uzbekistan is one of the key partners for the Moscow region. It ranks eleventh among all trading partners and fourth among the CIS countries. Last year, the trade turnover increased by 6.5%. In terms of the value of goods, exports exceed the volume of imports from Uzbekistan by almost 2 times. The Moscow region exports medicines, steel products, wood and products made from it.

    Earlier in 2022, cooperation agreements were signed between the regions between Dubna University and five leading technical universities in Uzbekistan. Now students can get double degrees - at their university and at Dubna University.

    Currently, one of the priority areas of cooperation between the two regions is training in working specialties: locksmith, welder, bricklayer and others.
