Another round of Uzbek-Italian political consultations took place in Rome

    On May 10, 2022, the 7th round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Italy took place in Rome.

    The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Manlio Di Stefano.

    During the talks, the state and prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Italy in political, trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other fields were thoroughly discussed.

    Special attention is paid to the activation of economic diplomacy. In this context, proposals to increase mutual trade turnover, the implementation of promising joint investment projects and trade contracts were considered.

    Certain aspects of interaction within the framework of the UN, the EU, the Italy-Central Asia dialogue and other multilateral structures are analyzed.

    Mutual interest was expressed in deepening cooperation in the field of culture, healthcare, and expanding contacts between scientific institutions and educational institutions.

    The sides also exchanged views on expanding the legal framework of bilateral cooperation with the elaboration of relevant and practically significant documents, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
