The Congress is attended by the chairman of the editorial board of the project "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world" academician Akmal Saidov, Chairman of the Board of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences Irina Popova, founder of the Institute of Central Asia and the Caucasus (USA) Professor Frederick Starr (USA), as well as over 250 world-renowned orientalists.
The central event of the Congress will be the presentation of 10 new books-albums of the series "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world".
During the Congress, memorandums of cooperation will be signed with a number of international organizations (UNESCO, IRCICA, ICESCO, Al-Furqan Foundation and others).
The highlight of the event will be the official opening ceremony of the Samarkand Silk Road Tourist Center, the Dune news agency reports.
It is expected that following the results of the work, orientalists participating in the VI International Congress will adopt a resolution and prepare an appeal to the President of Uzbekistan.
