The event brought together representatives of more than 100 countries, international organizations, the diplomatic corps, investors, manufacturers of environmental products, eco-innovators and experts in the field of sustainable development.

The opening ceremony was attended by Aziz Abdukhakimov, Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, Inger Andersen, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, and Gretel Aguilar, Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Speaking at the opening, Aziz Abdukhakimov noted that Eco Expo Central Asia should become an effective platform for developing international cooperation, attracting investments in environmental projects and promoting innovative solutions in the field of environmental protection.

According to him, the exhibition can become an important link in the formation of a "green" technological bridge between Central Asia and the global community, combining innovation, investment and best environmental practices.

They also stressed the need to develop the economy based on modern "green" technologies while preserving natural resources for future generations. In addition, Aziz Abdukhakimov took the initiative to declare Samarkand the capital of "green" investments and innovations in Central Asia.

Eco Expo Central Asia is aimed at developing a green economy, introducing environmental technologies and expanding international cooperation in the field of sustainable development.

In 2026, the exhibition has reached a new level: about 10,000 guests and participants are expected to participate, more than 68 thematic pavilions and 20 startup platforms for the region's eco-innovators are expected to operate. The event also includes over 50 forums, presentations, and thematic sessions on green energy, waste management, water resources management, climate adaptation, and sustainable development.
