The event was co-organized by the SCO People's Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between the SCO member states in the field of consumer protection, exchange experiences and develop joint approaches to improve transparency and fairness in the consumer market.
Kabuljon Sabirov, Director of the Center, stressed that consumer protection is an essential element of social sustainability and stability, especially in the context of globalization and rapid changes in world markets.
The director also noted that public diplomacy plays a key role in strengthening trust and mutual understanding between countries and peoples, and consumer protection is one of the areas where this role is especially important. He expressed confidence that the creation of sustainable mechanisms for dialogue and exchange of experience, as well as the creation of a network of consumer protection organizations in the SCO countries, will be an important step in improving the quality of life of citizens and ensuring more effective cooperation between states.
