On October 8 of this year, the Chairman of the Senate held a meeting with young people who participated in the cultural and educational project "Memory Train".

This project was launched in 2022. Its main goal is to familiarize young people more deeply with the history of the Second World War, to form an idea of the horrors and destruction of the war by visiting places where fierce battles took place, as well as awareness of the sacred duty of generations to preserve the heroism of our ancestors in memory.

15 students from Uzbekistan took part in the Memory Train project, which took place from June 20 to July 5 this year.

During the meeting, the impressions and opinions of young people about the project were listened to, as well as suggestions and recommendations from responsible managers.

Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva also highlighted important aspects of Uzbekistan's participation in World War II.

Thus, more than 1.5 million of the 6.5 million inhabitants of our country participated in the war. More than half a million of them died, and about 133 thousand compatriots went missing. More than 60 thousand returned from the war with disabilities.

Our people, as their brothers, accepted almost 1.5 million people evacuated from the front because of the war. More than 250,000 of them were children. A real example of humanism was the fact that hundreds of Uzbek families took in evacuated orphans and shared their last piece of bread with them.

The heroism of our people at the front and in the rear during the Second World War was so great that this glorious victory cannot be imagined without Uzbekistan and the Uzbek people.

In this regard, at the initiative of the President, a lot of work has been done in recent years to perpetuate the names of participants in the Second World War and our compatriots who worked selflessly in the rear, as well as to glorify their incomparable courage and perseverance.

In particular, the Victory Park memorial complex was built in Tashkent, which houses the State Museum of Glory, the monuments "Eternal Feat" and "Ode to Perseverance".

It was emphasized that every object, device and exhibit here encourages our people, especially young people, never to forget the terrible consequences of the war, to appreciate today's peaceful and peaceful life, as well as independence. It is important to always remain vigilant and ready to defend the Motherland.

The Chairman of the Senate focused on the priority areas that need to be implemented in the future to educate young people in the spirit of patriotism.

At the end of the meeting, they expressed confidence that the new generation of the New Uzbekistan will continue the glorious traditions of our heroic ancestors, will faithfully serve their Homeland and will become brave and courageous young people, always ready to protect it.
