A meeting with the Deputy Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development took place in the Senate

The meeting discussed the current state and prospects for deepening cooperation between the EBRD and Uzbekistan.

The head of the EBRD delegation stressed the scale of transformations and reforms carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at improving the standard of living of the population, reducing poverty, ensuring gender equality.

The parties noted the high level of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EBRD achieved in recent years.

Jonathan Chavez confirmed the EBRD's readiness to fully support the achievement of the goals of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue fruitful cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the information service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
