Prices for some products decreased in Tashkent supermarkets in October

    In October 2024, experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IMRI) conducted regular monitoring of food prices for 21 positions in the largest supermarket chains in Tashkent.

    The monitoring results showed that the minimum prices for 9 items decreased compared to the previous month*.

    Thus, the price reduction for carrots was 22.0%, cucumbers - 12.0%, bananas - 9.8%, buckwheat - 7.8%, tomatoes - 6.3%, beef (fillet) - 5.9%, sugar - 1.6%, sunflower oil - 1.4%, chicken eggs - 1.1%.

    Minimum prices have increased for 5 positions. The price growth leader is rice. The increase in the price of rice is due to market factors, changes in supply and demand.

    For 7 positions, the minimum prices remained unchanged. Among them are pasta, cabbage, beets, yellow onions, apples, lemons and margarine.
