Prices for some products have decreased in supermarkets in Tashkent

    In September 2024, experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IMRI) conducted another monitoring of food prices for 21 positions in the largest supermarket chains in Tashkent.

    The monitoring results showed that the minimum prices for 8 positions decreased compared to the previous month*.

    Thus, the price reduction for apples was 28.2%, tomatoes - 18.7%, cabbage - 15.9%, lemons - 13.8%, buckwheat - 5.9%, chicken meat (fillet) - 3.1%, yellow onion - 2.0%, sugar - 1.6%.

    Minimum prices have increased for 9 positions. The leader of the price increase is potatoes. This growth is due to a seasonal factor.

    For 4 positions, the minimum prices remained unchanged. Among them are wheat flour, rice, red carrots and a chicken egg.
