The summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization opened in Tashkent

    Today, on November 9, the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) began its work in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

    The event is attended by the heads of state and government of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.

    In accordance with the agenda, issues of further expansion of trade, economic, investment, transport, communication and humanitarian cooperation within the framework of the ECO, as well as improving the activities of this multilateral structure will be considered.

    Recall that the Organization for Economic Cooperation was founded in 1985 with a permanent secretariat in the city of Tehran. Uzbekistan has been a member of the ECO since 1992.
