    On September 3 of this year, the second meeting of the Working Group on Increasing trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia was held online under the co-chairmanship of the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov.

    Russia is a traditional major trading partner of Uzbekistan. In the first seven months of this year, trade turnover increased by 29.1% and amounted to $ 6.8 billion. During this period, the growth of exports to the Russian Federation was observed in 175 commodity items. 64 new commodity items worth $11.3 million have been exported.

    During the talks, reports were heard from relevant leaders in the fields of industry, energy, transport and agriculture, who reported on the current state of implementation of projects and agreements agreed within the framework of the joint action Plan to increase the volume of mutual trade between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation for 2024-2030, aimed at achieving a specific goal set by the Heads of the two states - bringing trade turnover to the $ 30 billion mark

    The meeting participants also got acquainted with the progress in opening a branch of the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade in Tashkent and the work of the Expert Center for Strategic Initiatives.

    Following the talks, they expressed their commitment to deepening cooperation and continuing fruitful joint work in all areas of trade development between the two countries.
