The agenda was preceded by a bilateral meeting of the heads of delegations of the two countries: Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev from the Uzbek side and Member of the Great State Hural, Member of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan from the Mongolian side.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of partnership relations between the two countries were reviewed in detail, and targets for mutual trade, investment attraction, and industrial cooperation were identified.
In particular, there was an increase in trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Mongolia by almost 50% last year, while the positive trend remains consistent this year.
There was a significant increase in the supply of passenger cars, food products and electrical equipment.
Currently, Mongolian companies are implementing projects in the fields of animal husbandry, geology, finance and medicine in the regions of Uzbekistan.
Having identified priority areas for the development of further cooperation, the parties continued their work within the framework of the 1st meeting of the intergovernmental commission between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Mongolia on the development of trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
During the meeting, the reports of the heads of relevant ministries, departments and industry associations responsible for the implementation of existing agreements were heard. Each stage of the projects has been analyzed in detail, effective solutions have been developed to accelerate their successful implementation, deadlines have been set and responsible persons have been assigned.
The program of the day was continued by a business forum and a constituent meeting of the business Council with the participation of more than 150 heads of large companies of the two countries.
In particular, the Mongolian side was represented by the heads of Dornod meat market, Sodon Oil Trade, IATA, MONGOL BAZALT, Tsaramtainarvai, Ikh Dodizul Energy, Azipharma, Jargalant, Kapitron Bank, Mandal insurance and other companies.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev stressed the importance of intensifying cooperation between business circles, breakthrough building of trade relations based on an in-depth analysis of the capacity of regional markets and transport and logistics capabilities.
During the business forum, the potential of the regions and sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan was presented, specific investment initiatives and projects in the fields of mining, agriculture, tourism, energy, etc. were announced.
The conditions created in Uzbekistan for comfortable business activities, protection of their rights and interests, and the main aspects of the country's investment and industrial potential are also presented.
Within the framework of the program, B2B and B2G meetings were organized, where entrepreneurs were able to make new, useful acquaintances, discuss the details of joint implementation of mutually beneficial projects and trade agreements.
As a result, the Protocol of the 1st meeting of the Uzbek-Mongolian intergovernmental joint commission and a number of bilateral agreements were signed, including in the field of education between Tashkent State Agrarian University and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences.
