Pyrotechnics and tobacco products worth 1 billion soums were found in one of the houses in Tashkent

    Another case of illegal trafficking in pyrotechnics and tobacco products worth more than 1 billion soums has been suppressed in the Sergeli district of the capital, the press service of the Customs Committee reports.

    In particular, employees of the anti-smuggling department of the Tashkent City Customs Administration, together with the State Security Service, the National Guard and the Department of Internal Affairs, found 162 thousand 153 units of fireworks and firecrackers in the house of a resident of the Sergeli district. It is clarified that the products are manufactured abroad and imported to Uzbekistan in various ways.

    In addition, 9.5 thousand packages of tobacco products manufactured abroad, but without digital labeling, were stored in the house.

    According to preliminary estimates, the total value of seized tobacco products and pyrotechnics exceeds 1 billion soums. A pre-investigation check is currently underway, the committee added.

    Recall that in October-December of this year, 81.4 thousand units of tobacco products without digital labeling, worth 0.9 billion soums, were confiscated.
