According to the international news agency Kazinform, the forum opened yesterday with a working meeting of representatives of relevant departments of Central Asian countries, as well as heads of key media structures in the region. Uzbekistan's director of the Information and Mass Communications Agency, Asajon Khodjaev, took part in the event, according to the Dune news agency.
During the media forum, Aida Balayeva highlighted the growing relations between the fraternal countries, thanks to the active and close cooperation of the heads of state. "Our task is to use this momentum to deepen cooperation in the area under our supervision," the minister added.
She recalled that the issue of enhancing information interaction has been repeatedly raised at the level of the leaders of the region.
"Kazakhstan supported the idea of creating a common Central Asian TV channel and preparing TV projects informing about the potential of the region, friendship and unity of the peoples living in this territory, as well as a series of educational TV and radio programs on the history and identity of our peoples. Thus, the Central Asian countries are currently considering the possibility of launching a joint TV channel and a regional media platform aimed at strengthening information cooperation in the region," the head of the ministry said.
In particular, Aida Balayeva said that the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan and the Agency for Information and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan had signed an interaction Plan that includes "the exchange of media content, training and seminars for journalists, advanced training for press secretaries, support for young professionals and a joint fight against disinformation."
"The parties also decided to organize press tours for journalists from both countries to share their experiences and develop professional ties. We call on all Central Asian countries to become a part of this process," the Minister stressed.
