At the regular meeting of the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, deputies discussed the draft laws included in the agenda based on the goals and objectives of the party. The members of the faction considered the draft law "On amendments to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility".

It is noted that the role of the National Guard in maintaining public order has been growing recently. Thus, in 2021 alone, as a result of the work carried out jointly with the internal affairs bodies, 166 508 administrative offenses were revealed. Also, employees of the National Guard detained 187 wanted persons, who were handed over to employees of the internal affairs bodies.

But today they do not have the authority to conduct administrative cases on the above offenses. As a result, this leads to bureaucracy and unnecessary red tape.

The draft law provides for the granting of these powers to the National Guard bodies. Amendments are also being made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility to expand their powers to identify offenses that infringe on public order.

The adoption of the draft Law will serve to increase efficiency in ensuring public safety, reduce the workload of law enforcement officers, while creating conditions for more full-fledged work with the population.

The meeting also discussed the draft law "On amendments and additions to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

As a result of the development and widespread introduction of information technologies in the republic, cases of fraud have become more frequent. In particular, there are cases of theft of funds from citizens' plastic cards or bank accounts.

Under the current legislation, insufficient criminal penalties are applied to the perpetrators. Based on this, the draft law strengthens the responsibility for such crimes.

According to the deputies, the adoption of the bill will serve to prevent and combat the theft of funds from the account or plastic card of individuals and legal entities by deception or abuse of trust.

Other draft laws included in the agenda were also discussed at the meeting of the faction, relevant decisions were made, the information service of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
