"Until today, commercial banks have allocated credit funds in the amount of 1,500 soums for manual collection, which were given to collectors for each kilogram of cotton. This, in turn, created some difficulties in attracting harvesters to seasonal work," the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement.
Taking into account these circumstances, as well as to further strengthen the financial incentives for pickers, starting from October 9, the cost of a manually harvested kilogram of cotton is set at 2500 soums for pickers in all regions of the country.
It is noted that 2,000 soums of this amount will be allocated from the state support fund for agriculture, and the remaining 500 soums from the cluster's funds.
