In Uzbekistan, it is planned to introduce an overnight charging tariff for owners of electric vehicles. This was announced at a meeting led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Residents who install meters on their chargers will be charged a reduced charge for charging electric vehicles at night.
It will also be possible to install charging stations with a capacity of up to 22 kW in mahallas and courtyards of apartment buildings, and up to 7 kW in households.
In addition, charging stations will be installed in the parking lots of government agencies, shopping malls, hotels and recreation centers.
Electric vehicles produced in Uzbekistan will be significantly cheaper than imported counterparts. This was stated by Shafkatbek Alimov, General Director of the BYD Uzbekistan Factory, in an interview with Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.
The Tashkent region is considering the possibility of starting production of Chinese Geely electric vehicles. This is reported by the press service of the local khokimiyat.
