The initiator of the awareness-raising campaign was the First Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection, Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva.
It is noted that on May 15, 2025, the Law "On the Protection of children from all forms of violence" came into force in Uzbekistan. This is the first document in the country's history that systematically defines the types of violence against children and introduces clear mechanisms for response and responsibility.
As part of the implementation of the law, a national conference "From Commitment to Action" will be held on May 26.: Strategy and National Perspectives for ending violence against Children", organized by the National Agency for Social Protection, which will present a ten-year strategy for protecting children from violence and an Action Plan.
The event will be attended by representatives of the United Nations, UNICEF, international organizations and civil society institutions.
One of the central events of the campaign will be the premiere of the short film "I have the Right (Haqqim bor)", which will take place on May 27 at 12:00 in the City Mall (Cinematics, 3rd floor). The film is based on the true stories of children who have experienced various forms of violence - psychological pressure, physical abuse, sexualized violence and emotional neglect. The aim of the film is to give back a voice to those who have not been heard for too long.
After the premiere, guests will be able to visit a unique exhibition of children's drawings created by children who have experienced violence.
The exhibition "Haqqim bor" will be located on the ground floor of the City Mall and will become part of a dialogue about how important it is not to gloss over the problem.
"We want everyone in society to understand that child abuse is not a taboo topic, but a reality that needs to be addressed. And now, according to the law, anyone who raises a hand against a child will be punished," the Agency said in a statement.
Silence is no longer the norm.
Indifference is no longer an option.
This law is our common step towards a society where children will feel protected.
