A cultural event dedicated to the world holiday of Navruz was held at the University of Cambridge. The celebration was organized jointly with the Cambridge Forum on Central Asia and Uzbek students studying in the UK.

The event was attended by more than 300 representatives of the socio-political, scientific, academic, and business circles of Great Britain, as well as activists of the Uzbek diaspora, the Doone news agency reports.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov noted that the Navruz holiday embodies eternal human values - kindness, generosity, creativity, tolerance, friendship and solidarity.

Cambridge University students, representatives of cultural associations and creative teams from Central Asian countries performed folklore numbers, as well as national songs.

The national stand of Uzbekistan, created specifically for the event, provided information about the tourism potential of our country, as well as samples of handicrafts, and guests were treated to traditional Uzbek cuisine.

Sidharth Saxena, Director of the Cambridge Forum on Central Asia, expressed special gratitude to the Uzbek diplomatic mission for its great contribution to the atmosphere of Navruz celebrations at Cambridge University.
