The World Bank will allocate $ 3 million to the Center for Variety Testing of Agricultural Crops

    The Center for Variety Testing of agricultural Crops under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan has almost a century of history, it consists of nine departments for different categories of agricultural crops, as well as a specialized technological laboratory for cotton growing.

    Currently, experts from the World Bank have been invited to the Center, which will allocate 3 million US dollars for the modernization of the material and technical base of this facility, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reports.

    At the request of representatives of the agricultural business - legal entities and individuals, the Center conducts various types of tests: differentiation, genus, genetic (varietal) purity of local and foreign varieties of agricultural crops. Based on the results of the conducted research, the Center issues conclusions to applicants. This, in turn, is a practical help for agricultural entrepreneurs, farmers and clusters.

    The Center has introduced technologies for storing and protecting agricultural crops (domestic and foreign) in genetic banks in accordance with international standards, and a special national genbank has been created.
