Israeli Air Force strikes eastern Lebanon, killing more than 60 people

Israeli Air Force planes and drones struck 18 settlements in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, killing more than 60 people and injuring about 100, a source in the Lebanese rescue service told RIA Novosti.

"Enemy aircraft and drones bombed 18 settlements in the Bekaa Valley. At the moment, 61 people have died and about 100 have been injured. These are not the final figures," the source said.

According to the source, search and rescue operations are hampered in a number of settlements due to ongoing airstrikes. In some settlements, the dismantling of rubble continues, where there may still be survivors.

Over the past day, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, 38 people were killed and 124 were injured. On Monday morning, the neighborhoods of the largest city in southern Lebanon, Tyre, were subjected to massive strikes.

Since October 1, Israel has been conducting a ground operation against Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon and continues aerial bombing of the neighboring country, where more than 2.5 thousand people have already died, including leaders of the Shiite movement, and more than a million people have become refugees. Despite the losses, including in the command structure, Hezbollah is conducting ground battles and does not stop rocket attacks on Israeli territory, reports ria.ru.
