The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, which was approved by the Israeli military and political cabinet on Tuesday evening, entered into force at 04.00 Wednesday morning local time (05.00 Moscow time).
In Israel, alarm sirens warning of shelling or drone infiltration last sounded more than four hours ago. There have also been no reports of attacks from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Lebanon over the past few hours.
On Tuesday evening, the Israeli military and political cabinet approved the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon by an absolute majority. Before the approval, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made an address to the nation, during which he explained the need for a ceasefire on the northern front, stressing that in case of any violation of the truce by the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, Israel will respond and resume hostilities, reports ria.ru.
