It was emphasized that the current state visit will become an essential step toward strengthening friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, which in recent years have become exemplary.
The positive dynamics and active contacts in all areas were noted with satisfaction. Meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council, as well as cultural events, are held regularly. On the eve of the visit, the Days of Culture and film screenings of Turkmenistan were held with great success in Urgench and Tashkent.
Last year, trade turnover exceeded $1 billion. Cargo transportation volumes are increasing, including transit through the Turkmenbashi port.
Special attention was given to expanding mutual trade and promoting practical cooperation in industry, energy, transport, mechanical engineering, agriculture, and water management.
The importance of expanding interregional exchanges was noted. An agreement was reached to hold the third Regions Forum in Khiva.
An exchange of views also took place on regional and international issues.
