The delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyar Islamov took part in the first meeting of the chairmen of the Supreme courts of Central Asia and China, held in Urumqi.
As noted on the website of the Supreme Court, the victims were accused by the OGPU, later of counterrevolutionary and anti-Soviet activities and participation in the national liberation movement, the so-called "Basmachism" in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent, Ferghana, Khorezm, Bukhara, Jizzakh and Namangan regions.
On November 14, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting on priority tasks in ensuring justice.
On August 10 of this year, the thirtieth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent. It was attended by members of the Senate, representatives of the court and prosecutor's offices, as well as media workers.
According to the law, the proceedings in all courts are open. Hearing of cases in a closed court session is allowed only in cases established by law.
