Samarkand International University of Technology (SIUT) is implementing a partnership project with Gimcheon High School of the Republic of Korea to train talented children from low-income families. As part of this social project, five graduates of rural schools from Ishtykhan, Akdarya, Kattakurgan and Urgut districts of the Samarkand region are currently taking preparatory courses at SIUT.
The administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, visited a school in Tashkent today and announced a new initiative designed to help improve the quality of teaching, materials and support necessary for every child to succeed in school, with an investment of $4.5 million in the first year.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bahrom Babayev held a meeting with the President of the Polish Academy of Pedagogy, Professor Barbara Marcinkovska, at which issues of her participation in the World Conference on the Upbringing and Education of Young Children, scheduled to be held in Tashkent on November 14-16, were discussed.
