On May 13, 2022, on the sidelines of the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Dushanbe, negotiations were held between Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin.
On May 12-13, 2022, in Dushanbe, a delegation of our country headed by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov will take part in the next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
From March 15, 2022, the activities of checkpoints of the state border of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Republic of Uzbekistan will be transferred to the normal mode, and the control of infectious diseases will be carried out only on the basis of providing a certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19 infection, without passing a virological check for coronavirus infection on the territory of Tajikistan.
According to the results of January-December 2021, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover (WTO) reached 42.1 billion US dollars, which, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 5.8 billion US dollars (an increase of 16.0%). Among the 20 major partner countries in foreign economic activity, there is an active foreign trade balance with four countries, in particular with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. A passive balance of foreign trade turnover is maintained with the remaining 16 countries.
