The Swedish
Institute, a specialized government organization, announced the results of the
selection for the 2026/2027 academic year under the Swedish Institute
Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP) program, aimed at training specialists
from developing countries.
As a result
of the competition, representatives of Uzbekistan received 4 scholarships. This
is the first time the country has participated in this program, which makes the
result particularly significant, according to the Dunyo news agency.
Scholarships
have been awarded in key areas of importance for the development of science and
economics, including robotics and automation, medicine, databases and
archaeology.
It is
expected that the winners will begin their master's degree studies at leading
universities in Sweden in August-September of this year. The training will be
conducted entirely on a grant basis.
Under the
SISGP program, scholarship holders receive: full tuition coverage; monthly
stipend; compensation for travel expenses to Sweden.
Thanks to
the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, in December 2025, the country was
included in the Global Professionals program of the Swedish Institute as the
34th partner.
To date,
Uzbekistan is the only Central Asian country participating in this prestigious
educational initiative.
