During the talks, the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between the Agency of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and St. Petersburg State University were discussed within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed during the visit of the Uzbek delegation to the Russian Federation in 2022.
In his opening speech, S. Andryushin emphasized that St. Petersburg State University strives to build up mutually beneficial partnership with the Republic of Uzbekistan in various areas of bilateral cooperation, including cooperation in the field of preschool education. In this context, the importance of early development of preschool children, which is an integral part of the development of modern Uzbekistan, was noted.
In the context of the meeting, the Vice-Rector of St. Petersburg State University proposed to consider the possibility of creating a joint working group to define and develop a roadmap within which the mechanism for implementing the points of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the parties will be determined.
At the same time, S. Andryushin once again confirmed the readiness of the Russian side to erect a monument to the Uzbek thinker and scientist Mirzo-Ulugbek on the territory of the University in St. Petersburg, as well as to provide all possible assistance to the Uzbek side in opening the Center of Uzbek Culture at St. Petersburg State University.
S. Andryushin also expressed the readiness of the leadership of St. Petersburg State University to consider the possibility of expanding cooperation with the Agency of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of: a) improving the scientific potential of the preschool education system; b) implementing joint projects aimed at the development of inclusive education; c) working out individual modules and programs for the development of nursing; d) advanced training of nurses, employed in the preschool education system.
Following the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on continuing joint work in the development of the preschool and school education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
