The automotive industry’s share in the country’s industry is 10 percent. Over the past ten months, 338 thousand cars were produced. Components of 1.4 thousand types were localized. Thanks to economic measures, the cost price in the industry decreased by 4 percent. Exports amounted to $455 million.
The Chairperson of JSC Uzavtosanoat presented information on plans and tasks for the future.
Next year, it is planned to produce 450 thousand cars and increase exports to $700 million. It is planned to strengthen cooperation with regional enterprises and increase localization. In particular, 63 projects will be implemented for $325 million to develop the production of 700 parts.
As is known, an electric vehicle plant was built in Jizzakh jointly with the BYD. Currently, cars such as Chazor and Song Plus Champion are manufactured there. In the coming years, the model range is planned to be expanded. In the second stage, costing $300 million, the production volume of electric cars is intended to increase to 200 thousand per year, and in the third stage, to 500 thousand.
The Head of state gave instructions on coordinating with Chinese partners the construction of additional capacities and the consistent development of the production of components and spare parts for electric cars.
Based on cooperation, the task has been set to form orders for domestic enterprises.
