As a result of timely organized and competent preventive work, the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan has managed to prevent the mass spread of coronavirus in the country.
The country’s international partners play a significant role in this. It is not for nothing they say – a friend in need is a friend indeed. So, we have not only strong trade and economic relations, in which we act as a reliable strategic partner on the world stage, but also warm friendly ties with many countries, which are very clearly manifested in difficult times. During the last few months of the fight against an invisible enemy, numerous humanitarian supplies from various parts of the world have arrived in Uzbekistan.
Participants of the Belt and Road Initiative project did not stand aside either. As time has shown, this project is not only economic cooperation in its purest form, but also spiritual and moral partnership.
In particular, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the PRC, China Environmental Energy Holdings Company Limited in cooperation with Kunlun Red Star Hockey Club sent 50 thousand medical masks worth more than five million yuan, as well as 20 units of Resmed Lumis 150 VPAP ST two-level non-invasive artificial ventilation devices, on specially arranged Uzbekistan Airways flights for use in combating the spread of coronavirus in the country.
In addition, Vionta JSC purchased 25 sets of artificial ventilation for intensive care units of the PA-500 model worth 1,5 million euros and together with the employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan prepared to send to the country.
This humanitarian aid will become an additional lever for an early victory over the Covid-19 pandemic, an occasion we are all waiting for.
