The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum

    On November 1-3, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddinjon Ismailov visited Cairo.

    During the visit, the Uzbek delegation took part in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which was also attended by delegations from about 120 states and international organizations, the Dunyo news agency reports.

    It was noted at the ceremony that the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum marks a new stage in preserving the country's cultural and historical heritage and presenting it to the world community.

    It was also noted that it was in ancient Egypt that the first writing originated, the world saw the dawn of thought, art and faith, and the opening of the Great Egyptian Museum will play an important role in strengthening the ideas of peace, harmony and mutual respect between peoples.

    Within the framework of the event, the delegation of our country met with Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Egyptian Parliament Hanafi Ali al-Jabali. The Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament warmly recalled his participation in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which was held in Tashkent on April 5-9 this year, and his acceptance by the President of Uzbekistan.

    Hanafi Ali al-Jabali welcomed the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and noted that they create favorable conditions for inter-parliamentary and international cooperation.

    During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further development of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, exchange of experience and expansion of interparliamentary dialogue.
