The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS member states

    The 53rd regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS Member States (hereinafter referred to as the SORB, the Council) was held in Baku. On the same day, the heads of delegations met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan I.G. Aliyev.

    The plenary session focused on improving the interaction of special services in the fight against terrorism and organized crime, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.

    SORB members outlined ways to increase the level of cooperation in order to neutralize the threats to the security of the CIS member states associated with the activation of terrorist organizations operating in Afghanistan.

    We summed up the results of the work in 2023 on the study of the problems of countering terrorism and other manifestations of extremism.

    We heard from the head of the Commonwealth Anti-Terrorism Center about the results of the joint anti-terrorist exercises of the competent authorities of the CIS member states "Eurasia-Antiterrorism - 2023" and the First CIS Conference on Combating Terrorism and Extremism (September 2023, Kyrgyz Republic).

    In addition, the Council has developed additional joint measures aimed at combating cross-border drug gangs.

    Also during the event, meetings of the working bodies of the SORB were held in various areas of activity.
