The meeting discussed issues of further strengthening the promotion of "Halal tourism" between the countries, creating all the necessary conditions for Muslim tourists.
During the bilateral dialogue, the officials discussed a number of issues on increasing the number of Muslim tourists traveling from Indonesia to Uzbekistan, developing affordable travel packages and providing quality services.
"We have information about the ancient history of Uzbekistan and the possibilities of tourism. The opportunity to get a closer look at the work done by Uzbek encyclopedic scientists for the promotion of Islam, and their scientific heritage pleases Indonesian Muslims. In particular, more than 5 million inhabitants of the island of Sumatra are adherents of the Naqshbandiya teachings. Therefore, there are a lot of people who want to visit Uzbekistan," said Dr. Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim, Head of the International Relations Department of the Muslims of Indonesia.
During the dialogue, Indonesian officials were fully informed about the ongoing reforms on tourism development in Bukhara.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize the demonstration of promotional videos about Bukhara on screens installed in crowded avenues of mosques in Indonesia and their surroundings.
