During the talks, Mrs. H. Laurent highly appreciated the efforts of the leadership of New Uzbekistan to provide comprehensive support to the non-governmental non-profit organizations operating in the republic, especially the social movement of consumerism.
Mrs. Helen Laurent also put forward proposals to hold the II International Forum of European and Asian consumers in the cities of Bukhara and Samarkand, Uzbekistan, as well as to open the headquarters of Consumers International in Tashkent.
During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail a number of issues related to the further development of the consumer social movement and the exchange of mutual experience in this regard.
For reference. Consumers International is a global network of consumer organizations founded in 1960, which unites more than 200 consumer organizations from more than 100 countries on all continents. The organization has consultative status in the United Nations.
The Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies of Uzbekistan has been a full member of this international organization since 2018.
