"One of the largest coronal holes in the Sun in the last few years <...> is returning to Earth, having made a complete revolution around the axis of the Sun. The edge of the fast solar wind stream formed by the hole will most likely be crossed this afternoon," the laboratory's website says.
Meteorologists noted that today, on February 10, the plasma velocity in the vicinity of the Earth may increase to 600-700 km/s, while at the moment it is no more than 350-400 km/s.
According to scientists, the influence of the coronal hole on the Earth will persist until February 16.
Given the instability of space weather, scientists warn of possible consequences for weather-sensitive people. They may experience headaches, fatigue, and mood swings throughout the week.
Experts recommend monitoring your psychoemotional state and avoiding stressful situations in order to minimize the negative effects of geomagnetic changes.
