The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to Uzbekistan's appeal regarding the treatment of migrants

The Russian side carefully examines the information contained in Uzbekistan's note, and the relevant appeal from Uzbek partners is brought to the competent authorities.

The objective information received will be transmitted to Tashkent in due course, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told TASS.

Earlier, a spokesman for the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, Akhror Burkhanov, said that the country's Foreign Ministry was concerned about searches and alleged improper treatment of Uzbek immigrants in Russia, and the Uzbek Embassy in Moscow sent a note requesting clarification to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"In connection with the receipt of the note from the Embassy of Uzbekistan, we are carefully reviewing the information contained therein. I would like to note that we have direct communication channels through law enforcement and other services. As usual between allies, the conversation is frank, and any signal is carefully considered. The mentioned appeal of the Uzbek side is brought to the competent authorities. The objective information received will be transmitted to the partners in due course," the diplomat said.

"First of all, we would like to emphasize that we have strong relations of alliance and comprehensive strategic partnership with Uzbekistan, and we approach all topics of our bilateral relations from this angle," Maria Zakharova said.
