The Ministry of Tourism and Sports summed up the work on certification of sports and tourism services in 2021

    Despite the limitations caused by the pandemic, the special attention paid to the tourism sector in our country is an incentive for the further development of the industry.

    In 2021, the Certification Center for Sports and Tourism Services under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan provided certificates of conformity for 507 accommodation facilities. Of these, 167 are newly opened accommodation facilities, 133 hotels, 4 recreation areas, 1 motel, 1 yurt camp, 1 tourist center, 1 guest house, 13 medical institutions, 11 dormitories, 2 sanatoriums.

    In 2020, the total number of certified accommodation facilities was 262, and in 2021 their number increased by 245.

    In addition, last year, a Department for the Implementation of Management Systems was created at the State Unitary Enterprise "Certification Center for Sports and Tourism Services".

    In order to further increase the competitiveness of services provided in our country in the foreign and domestic markets, as well as to further improve the quality of service, certification of hotel management systems according to the O'z DSt ISO 9001 standard has been introduced.

    In order to improve the quality of services in accordance with state standards, inspection control was carried out at 721 accommodation facilities in all regions of the republic. Also, an evaluation audit was conducted to eliminate deficiencies in 582 newly created accommodation facilities in accordance with the state standard O'z DSt 3220:2017.

    For the first time, the state standard "Tourist services. Requirements for guides (guides-translators), guides" which defines the requirements for guides (guides-translators) and guides.

    At the same time, in order to create additional conditions for local and foreign investors, including independently choosing which additional services to offer visitors, a project has been developed to introduce a system of point classification of hotel services and discussed with representatives of hoteliers and the hotel business.

    In order to create additional amenities for customers in hotels, as well as to increase additional revenue, a requirement has been introduced for the organization of shops and retail outlets for the sale of folk crafts in hotels of three or more categories.

    In order to create conditions and facilities for the disabled, a requirement has been introduced in the hotel and other accommodation facilities to have at least one room for the disabled and its equipment.

    In Uzbekistan, the procedure for the introduction of a unified electronic register of rented residential premises and their certification has been implemented, planned work has been carried out on the formation and maintenance of a database of rented housing.

    The Center has created an electronic database that provides prompt access to information on all sports, as well as a Unified information base on athletes, which contains information about athletes who regularly participate in competitions in a particular sport.

    To date, the systematic placement of relevant information about 986 (15.3%) athletes out of 6,452 regularly participating in boxing competitions in a Single information base has been provided.
