The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan took part in the Internet Governance Forum

    Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov took part in the Internet Governance Forum, held in Saudi Arabia.

    During the event, the Minister spoke at the plenary session "From Summit of the Future to WSIS+20", and also participated in panel sessions and a number of other discussions.

    The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a multi-stakeholder platform for discussing issues related to Internet governance. It brings together representatives of Governments, the private sector, civil society, technical and academic communities on equal terms, ensuring an open and inclusive dialogue process. The creation of the IGF was officially announced by the UN Secretary-General in July 2006, and the first meeting was held in October-November of the same year. Since then, the forum has been held annually, providing a platform for the exchange of views and joint search for solutions to topical issues in the field of global Internet governance.

    During the event, issues of international cooperation between governments, prevention of various risks and elimination of problems hindering international development were considered. The participants also discussed the impact of technology and innovation on people's lifestyle changes and the expected acceleration of these processes in the future.

    On these issues, an exchange of views took place with political representatives of various countries, researchers and qualified specialists.
