During the visit, a meeting was held with Talos Capital, an American venture capital company that invests in early-stage projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, DeepTech, cybersecurity, defense technologies, industry 4.0 and fintech.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IT Park Farkhod Ibragimov, CEO of IT Park Abdulahad Kuchkarov, Director of Global Marketing Jamila Khalibayeva, Managing Partner of Talos Capital Nir Netzer and Project Director Paul Sheehan.
The parties discussed the prospects for systemic cooperation in the field of venture capital investments and startup acceleration. Talos Capital expressed interest in studying the pool of Uzbek startups and joint assessment of promising technology companies, as well as in creating a structured mechanism for project exchange and joint expert assessment of startups with the participation of IT Park Uzbekistan.
The possibility of Talos Capital's participation in joint investment initiatives, including the Digital Startups Program, with an emphasis on conducting due diligence, developing co-investment models, and accelerating early investments was discussed separately.
Among the key topics of the meeting is the support of soft-landing for Talos Capital portfolio companies planning to enter the Uzbek market. They discussed access to the IT Park infrastructure, consultations on regulatory issues, the launch of pilot projects with Uzbek companies and the development of partnerships with the private sector.
The parties also discussed the exchange of experience and the participation of Talos Capital in international innovation initiatives aimed at developing artificial intelligence and DeepTech in Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation, facilitate the entry of Talos Capital portfolio companies into the Central Asian market, attract venture capital investments in Uzbek startups and strengthen Uzbekistan's role in the global innovation ecosystem.
