According to him, the Coxsackie virus belongs to the family of enteroviruses and was first recorded in the city of the same name in the United States. Children between the ages of 3 and 10 are most often ill. In adults, the disease is extremely rare.
Symptoms include a sharp rise in temperature to 39-40°C, headache, weakness, and later a rash on the palms, feet, and oral mucosa, sore throat, and digestive disorders.
The infection usually spreads in the summer - by swimming in common bodies of water or as a result of close contact with infected people. The incubation period is from 2 to 10 days.
At the same time, as the Ministry of Health notes, the Coxsackie virus has not been detected in any of the country's laboratories at the moment. This means that it is groundless to talk about its widespread distribution in the country.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that the Coxsackie virus, as a rule, proceeds without complications and is treatable. However, it is forbidden to self-medicate and give antibiotics to children - these drugs are ineffective against this virus. If you have serious symptoms, you should consult a doctor.
