In the holy month of Ramadan, Uzbekistan has successfully conducted the humanitarian operation “Mehr”.

93 women and children have been returned to Uzbekistan within the framework of humanitarian operation “Mehr-5” by Uzbekistan Airways from hot spots in the Middle East.

Humanitarian operations “Mehr” are being carried out on the directive of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to support compatriots who have found themselves in difficult conditions in a foreign land, their return to the country and ensure full adaptation in society.

Within the framework of the earlier operations “Mehr” 1, 2, 3, 4, 438 women and children who were helpless in a difficult situation were returned to the homeland from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

It should be noted that these people, trapped in hot spots under the compulsion or influence of their spouse, father, or other persons and returned by the state from a foreign land, today live peacefully under the care and attention of the state and the generous people.

In the holy month of Ramadan, as a result of Operation “Mehr-5”, carried out with the support of the United States and other partner countries, 24 women and 69 children were returned to Uzbekistan, who were held for more than 3 years in the Al-Khol camp, previously trapped in hot spots in Syria.

It should be noted that these women went to Syria at the call of their spouses, because of fanaticism they embarked on the path of terrorism. They lost their husbands in battles, became widows, and their children became orphans. Among those who were brought home, seven orphans have lost both their father and mother.

The saddest thing is that they faced with a bitter fate, were forced to live, deprived of the simplest living conditions.

From now on, these women and children will be accommodated in Buston sanatorium in Tashkent region and they will be provided with medical, psychological and social assistance. Also, the necessary work will be carried out on the preparation of documents confirming their identity.

According to international experts, Uzbekistan is one of the few countries actively involved in returning its citizens from the zones of military conflicts.
