The President of Uzbekistan will attend the First Summit of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) in Baku.
The agenda of the event includes further enhancing multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Programme, creating a Trust Fund to support regional projects, adopting an action plan for the digitalization of transport corridors, promoting business initiatives, and other issues.
It should be noted that the SPECA was established on March 26, 1998, by the Tashkent Declaration to promote the development of economic cooperation and integration of the region’s countries into the world economy. The participating states are Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
These days, several SPECA business events are being held in Baku, including an economic forum and an exhibition of the industrial potential of Central Asian countries.
