President of Uzbekistan to attend BRICS Summit

    The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, will pay a working visit to Kazan on October 23-24 to attend the events of the BRICS Summit.

    The President of Uzbekistan will address the plenary session of the event in the BRICS Plus format, which will be chaired by the Russian side.

    The meeting agenda includes enhancing international cooperation to ensure inclusive and sustainable development. Current aspects of global politics will also be discussed.

    In addition, the visit program includes several bilateral meetings.

    The BRICS was founded in 2006. Its current members are Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia.
