Pavel Durov, the founder of the messenger, wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
According to the businessman, so far videos in various chat rooms and channels on Telegram have been displayed in the same format in which they were published. Because of this, users were forced to wait until their phones were pumping gigabytes of information and the videos were fully loaded. At the same time, problems arose even when viewing short recordings.
"With today's update, Telegram servers will compress popular videos into several quality options and optimize them for streaming," Pavel Durov noted.
The entrepreneur clarified that thanks to this innovation, the messenger will automatically begin to choose in which quality to play a particular video. The key role in this process will be played by the speed of the Internet connection on the devices of each individual user, reports oxu.az.
